Margie Reese is a district sales manager for San Diego County for Worlds Choice Products.  She is the owner of Dream Makers Entertainment in Chula Vista, California. Dream Makers offers consulting for bands, musicians, and singers, and has a vast networking system. From 1994 until 2001, Margie founded and served as Executive Director of Operations for AudioTron Recording in San Diego. In the past she served the board of directors for the San Diego Songwriters Guild, sponsored the Gospel Talent Festival, featuring CeCe Winans, and was a volunteer for MusiCares (NARAS). She currently is a member of the Kiwanis Club of San Diego and the San Diego Nice Guys, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that helps families and individuals in need.  Margie taught community cooking classes, instructing and demonstrating healthful, vegetarian cooking. She fought and won the battle with breast cancer in November of 2009 and now is active in promoting a healthier lifestyle with proper diet and supplements.  Her passion is seeing people recover from disease using natural remedies.

The original The Backstage Gourmet Cookbook: Favorite Vegetarian Recipes from the World of Music, created and edited by PJ Grimes and Steve Hoffman, with artwork by renowned illustrator/author/Godfather of the Graphic Novel Phil Yeh, presents readers with a slice of the real music world, a cross-section rather than just a celebrity stew. You might find some of our recipe contributors playing at your local coffeehouse, while others are Grammy and Emmy Award winners who have performed around the globe.

Recipes from publicists and entertainment attorneys who work with some of the industry’s biggest names today are featured along with those contributed by owners of independent record stores, music book authors, and sound engineers. Just as you may discover some of the best food in the most unexpected places, great music can be found in a wide array of settings. A wide variety of musical styles, including contemporary jazz, reggae, Latin, punk, blues, folk, ska, country, and new age/ambient, are represented in this unique collection. There’s a range of types of food, a fusion of flavors, from tofu cheesecake to hearty Cajun and Caribbean stews.
