Backstage Gourmet cookbooks offer a compilation of favorite pieces from a diverse group of people involved in music, some well known, others not as well known, from top songwriters and performers to popular on-air radio personalities and music book authors. The Backstage Gourmet Cookbook: Favorite Vegetarian Recipes From the World of Music, created and edited by PJ Grimes and Steve Hoffman, with artwork by renowned illustrator/author Phil Yeh, presents readers with a slice of the real music world, a cross-section rather than just a celebrity stew. You might find some of our recipe contributors playing at your local coffeehouse, while others are Grammy and Emmy Award winners who have performed around the globe.
Recipes from publicists and entertainment attorneys who work with some of the industry’s biggest names today are featured along with those contributed by owners of independent record stores, music book authors, and sound engineers. Just as you may discover some of the best food in the most unexpected places, great music can be found in a wide array of settings. A wide variety of musical styles, including contemporary jazz, reggae, Latin, punk, blues, folk, ska, country, and new age/ambient, are represented in this unique collection. There’s a range of types of food, a fusion of flavors, from tofu cheesecake to hearty Cajun and Caribbean stews.
